Your Responsibilities

The Preclinical Facility (PCF) offers services for currently 11 research groups which compete on scientific top level in their field with research institutions worldwide. Therefore we are searching for a highly motivated colleague for our genotyping lab (PCF lab) and for the management of transgenic mouse lines.

• Mouse Colony Management: maintain transgenic mice, set up breedings, organize orders and enquiries from scientists
• General lab work and genotyping by PCR
• Data documentation in our data management system
• Interface between scientists and the entire team of the Preclinical Facility

Your Profile

• Degree in Biology or equivalent education (background in genetics is appreciated) or experience in a molecular biology lab or equivalent education
• Experience in breeding and maintaining transgenic mice is an advantage but not mandatory – a comprehensive training on the job will be provided; willingness to learn these skills is strongly required
• Experience with molecular biology techniques, especially PCR
• Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Excellent self-organization and data management skills
• Excellent German skills and good communication skills in English
• High level of service-orientation and affinity to work with animals
