GESIS – Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences is an internationally active social science institution of the Leibniz Association, funded by the German federal and state governments.
Starting as soon as possible our Department IT Infrastructure and Services (IT) located in Cologne or Mannheim is looking for a
Junior IT Administrator
(pay grade 9a TV-L 1.760,05 €-2.2.45,02 €, working time 50 %, permanent position)
The IT Infrastructure and Services department at GESIS sees itself as an internal service provider in the fields of information processing and communication technology for all GESIS departments. It operates its own data centers in Cologne and Mannheim with modern network and server technology.
Your tasks will be:
- Client and server administration
- User support (on site and remote) and help desk ticket system (no shift work or Saturday work)
- Technical preparation and support for in-house workshops, including media technology
- Creating documentation of IT processes for compliance requirements and the intranet
- Advising employees and providing project support
Your profile:
- Completed vocational training as an IT specialist in system integration or comparable qualifications and multiple years of work experience in the IT sector
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft and/or Linux operating systems and common Office applications
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics (GESIS will support relevant further training)
- Good written and spoken German and English language skills
- High degree of reliability and responsibility, initiative, and ability to work in a team
