Über diesen Job
Intro
We’re searching for an experienced Java developer with a passion for designing and building engaging Minecraft minigames from the ground up. In this role, you’ll be responsible for implementing fast-paced, polished, and replayable game modes that push the boundaries of Minecraft’s mechanics and player expectations.
You’ll join a highly technical team building a new Minecraft network from scratch — focused on performance, quality, and gameplay depth. From prototyping core mechanics to delivering production-ready experiences, your work will directly shape how players interact, compete, and have fun on our platform.
Tasks
- Design, prototype, and implement original minigames with a focus on replayability, competitive balance, and performance
- Develop efficient, maintainable server-side game logic using Java and the PaperMC ecosystem
- Handle player states, matchmaking, game flow, rewards, and lifecycle management for multiple simultaneous game instances
- Work closely with contents, builders, and developers to integrate game mechanics, maps, and systems
- Optimize network performance and tick usage — especially in high-concurrency or fast-paced environments
- Create robust debugging, logging, and monitoring tools to support rapid iteration and testing
- Document gameplay logic, flow diagrams, and APIs for internal use
- Participate in regular code reviews, testing sessions, and feedback loops
- Collaborate with QA and playtesters to identify edge cases, bugs, and balance issues
- Support post-release maintenance, bugfixing, and updates based on player feedback and analytics
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with Java in production-level environments
- Demonstrable experience working on / patching minigames
- In-depth technical knowledge of CraftBukkit/Spigot and Paper
- Strong experience with NMS and handling network packets
- Engaging and entertaining design concepts
- Team-oriented mindset – you're motivated by collaborative success
- Availability for a full-time contractor role (40 hours per week)
Benefits
- The opportunity to shape a brand-new Minecraft network from the ground up
- A highly motivated and experienced dev team working on modern, scalable server architecture
- Freedom to innovate – real impact on core systems like anti-cheat, backend, and gameplay infrastructure
- Top-tier hardware provided as needed (high-end laptops, test rigs, etc.)
- Access to a powerful development and testing environment, including a dedicated dev network
- Long-term contractor role with a stable, professional work setup
- Fully remote – work from anywhere
