Doctoral or Postdoctoral Position in Computer and Information Science

(Full-time, E 13 TV-L)

The start date will be November 1st, 2025 or later by agreement. The position is initially available for two years with the possibility of an extension. In principle, this position can be divided into two part-time positions.

The Department of Computer and Information Science is closely connected to our Excellence Cluster -Collective Behaviour- and the SFB/Transregio 161 "Quantitative Methods for Visual Computing". Within this framework we are looking to fill a doctoral or postdoctoral position in the research group of Prof. Dr. Oliver Deussen. The position is in the field of Visual Computing, particularly in Computer Graphics and Creativity.

Your Responsibilities

• Research in the field of visual computing
• Publish in academic journals and present at conferences
• Collaborate with an international research team
• Supervising students in their projects (Bachelor and Master level)
• Assist in teaching and tutoring, particularly in lectures connected to visual computing

Your Competencies

• Strong written and oral communications skills in English and German
• A scientific graduate degree (Master-s level) in Computer Science or a related field with excellent grades
• Experience with information visualization and computer graphics
• Strong Motivation
• Interest in research questions addressed by the research group
• A team-working mindset
