We are a startup at the forefront of agricultural innovation, specializing in the development of harvesting robots for strawberries. Our mission is to revolutionize the way strawberries are harvested, making it more efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective.

Role Overview: You will work on the computer vision pipeline used in our harvesting robots. Our robots operate in a greenhouses and face highly dynamic environments. Changing light conditions, moveable targets and a diverse set of objects to distinguish are challenges the vision system has to overcome. The information you extract using computer vision algortihms will be used to navigate the robot or pick strawberries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rapid prototyping of your designs and ideas on real hardware
• Development of algorithms for panoptic segmentation of the robot's environment
• 3D-object detection e.g., generation of collision objects using 3d-perception sensors (LIDAR, stereo cameras) and their respective point clouds
• Integration of new vision sensors to enhance the robots understanding of the environment
• Development of vision-based tracking methods

• Completed computer science degree with specialization in robotics, computer vision or comparable course of study
• Hands-on experience with image recognition, neural networks and 3d vision sensors
• Profound skills with Python, Pytorch, Docker, Linux, Git
• A passion for the development of innovative solutions and creative ideas to improve our robots
• Fluency in English required, fluency in German is a big plus
• Driver’s license class B

Optional:

• Experience with reinforcement learning
• Skills with ROS (Robot Operating System)
• Experience with algorithms for auto-exposure and white balance
