Location: Leipzig – Hybrid
We’re working with a forward-thinking client who is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to strengthen their development team. In this role, you’ll take responsibility for the full software development lifecycle – from initial design through to implementation – while helping shape the technical direction of the team.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the design and development of reliable, high-performing software solutions.
- Working on integrations and maintaining connections with different external systems and services.
- Making sure the software is scalable, secure, and built with long-term quality in mind.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues in testing, operations, and development.
- Taking part in continuous improvement and contributing ideas to innovation projects.
What we’re looking for
- A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar – or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Several years of professional software development experience, ideally including time in a senior or lead role.
- Strong skills in backend development with Node.js and Express.
- Good knowledge of frontend technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure).
- Familiarity with automated testing, monitoring, deployments, and Agile/DevOps practices.
- Some knowledge of C#/.NET would be useful, and a willingness to work with it when needed is important.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in fast-moving environments.
- A collaborative and open way of working, with good communication skills.
- Fluent English; German is a plus.
