Financial Controlling Manager - Europe
Our client is a leading international consumer goods company, with strong European and global operations, offering well-established brands and solutions to consumers worldwide. Headquartered in Switzerland, the company operates in numerous markets and is committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and financial excellence.
As Europe Controller Manager, reporting directly to the Group Head of Reporting and Consolidation, you play a central role in overseeing accounting and consolidation activities across their different European entities. You ensure high-quality financial reporting, compliance with IFRS, and strong internal control frameworks, while actively contributing to the ongoing transformation of the finance function.
YOUR ROLE:
- Drive the harmonization and standardization of accounting policies and practices across European subsidiaries
- Take an active role in finance transformation initiatives, including process redesign and the implementation of new systems and tools
- Assess, develop, and expand the finance outsourcing model across Europe, based on risk analysis and operational efficiency
- Support the preparation of the Group’s consolidated financial statements under IFRS, in close coordination with the 6 controllers across the European region.
- Play an active role in coordinating the task with the Shared Service Center.
- Prepare and review consolidation adjustments, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of group-level entries
- Oversee compliance with the Internal Control System (ICS) for the Swiss entities
- Support the alignment and rollout of internal control standards across European operations
- Provide coaching, guidance, and ongoing support to local finance teams on internal control topics.
- Act as a key point of contact for European finance stakeholders, promoting best practices and compliance with group standards
PROFILE:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA or equivalent) with a strong audit background is a must.
- At least 7 years of experience in a similar role (audit, accounting, or financial reporting), ideally within a multinational environment.
- Solid experience in financial consolidation and a strong understanding of IFRS
- Fluency in English, written and spoken; additional languages such as French, or Spanish are an advantage
- Strong analytical skills, structured approach, and the ability to operate in a complex, international environment
