Manager R&D - Verification (100%)
Your contribution
In this challenging and important leadership role, you will manage and mentor a Verification & Validation (V&V) group within our Corporate Research & Development team. You will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of your group’s outputs with processes, SOPs, directives, guidelines, and norms. From planning and tracking V&V test campaigns to providing validated tools and equipment, you will play a key role in achieving project and company objectives. You will collaborate closely with project teams, drive process improvements, and act as a role model for Tecan’s quality policy and values.
Responsibilities
- Lead and guide a V&V group to achieve targets in quality, regulatory, laboratory/biosafety, software, firmware, module, and system verification tasks
- Manage, mentor, and coach group members to improve professional skills
- Ensure efficient operation of group members, budget, and equipment
- Plan and track V&V test campaigns and coordinate test activities
- Collaborate in the development and improvement of V&V processes, SOPs, and templates
- Participate in project milestone and product release reviews
- Support communication and knowledge sharing across departments
- Contribute to the V&V budget process and special projects beyond V&V topics
Your background

- Technical or scientific education, with further education in ISO 13485 and ISO 9001, QSR requirements and IVD-D / IVD-R
- Product development and HW/SW verification experience, ideally in a regulated environment
- Leadership experience (minimum 2 years)
- Good understanding of project needs and priorities
- Excellent knowledge of V&V methodologies and tools
- Experience with risk and quality management
- Good verbal and written communication skills in German and English
- ISTQB foundation level (advanced level is a plus) and lab automation knowledge
- Strategic, solution-oriented, and team-oriented mindset
