Job Overview
As a PHP Developer , you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing web applications using PHP and related technologies. You will work closely with other developers, IT professionals, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimizeweb applications using PHP frameworks (e.g., Yii2, Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter).
- Writeclean, scalable, and well-documented code following best practices.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrateuser-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolvesoftware defects and performance issues.
- Design and implementsecure, scalable, and efficient database structures using MySQL or other RDBMS.
- Participate incode reviews, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and developcustom software solutions.
- Keep up to date with the latest PHP developments, frameworks, and security best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum3 years of experience in PHP development.
- Proficiency inPHP and at least one PHP framework (e.g., Yii2, Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter).
- Strong experience withMySQL or PostgreSQL database management.
- Familiarity withHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, React, or Angular is a plus).
- Experience withRESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
- Understanding ofversion control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, or GitLab).
- Knowledge ofLinux environments, Apache/Nginx configurations, and shell scripting is an advantage.
- Experience withunit testing and debugging.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to workindependently or in a team.
- Ability tohandle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Fluent inEnglish (Maltese is a plus).
