Job Overview
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated PHP Developer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with 3+ years of experience in PHP development, particularly with MVC frameworks such as Yii2 or Laravel. You’ll be involved in building and maintaining secure, user-centric platforms for various business sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using PHP and MVC frameworks (e.g. Yii2, Laravel)
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend logic.
- Work closely with front-end developers and project managers to deliver features on time.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing applications.
- Write clean, well-documented, and reusable code.
- Manage version control using Git (e.g. GitHub, GitLab)
- Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams during testing and deployment phases.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in PHP development
- Strong experience with at least one MVC framework (Yii2 preferred, Laravel or Symfony acceptable)
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and best practices
- Experience with MySQL/MariaDB, database design, and query optimisation
- Familiarity with REST APIs and web service integration
- Proficiency in using Git version control in a team setting
- Comfortable working in Linux-based development environments
- Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written) is mandatory
- Maltese language skills are considered favourably
- Must be currently based in Malta
