The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid
You will be mainly accountable for:
- You contribute to research activities at the intersection of numerical optimization, control theory, and machine learning.
- You develop efficient and reliable optimization-based control solutions for challenging industrial applications.
- You support the implementation of numerical optimization algorithms for real-time control systems.
- You augment traditional approaches with machine learning techniques to boost performance and facilitate rapid prototyping.
Qualifications for the role
- You are an enrolled student in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Cybernetics, Mathematics or similar.
- You have solid programming experience in any of Python, C/C++ or Matlab.
- You have sound English skills in speaking and writing as required by an international team.
- You have prior knowledge and experience in at least two of the following: numerical optimization, control theory and machine learning.
- You have a strong interest in and, ideally, possess prior knowledge and experience in optimal control, model predictive control and related tools (e.g. CasADi).
- You show great attention to detail.
- You have an analytical and structured way of thinking.
- You show readiness to tackle difficult problems, above-average motivation to implement and test developed models and algorithms, and proactiveness to come up with new ideas on how to overcome possible challenges.
