Your Future Role
In Mannheim, over 1000 colleagues from 36 different countries work together to develop locomotives, as well as signal and propulsion technology for vehicles that are deployed both regionally and worldwide. Our corporate functions play a key role in supporting and continuously improving the performance of our sites. You’ll report to Rasmus Krevet and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
We are hiring a qualified RAM Engineer for our location in Mannheim, Germany.
As a RAM Engineer, you are going carry out RAM, i.e. ( Reliability, Availability, Maintainability)- related activities in Projects & Programs in line with quality objectives. You are going to optimise the RAM performance while being mindful of other disciplines such as life cycle cost, safety, etc.
We’ll look for you to :
• Within each Project or Program, the RAM Engineer oversees carrying out the RAM activities; such as : RAM plan, RAM report, product or system-level RAM prediction, RAM monitoring plan and reports, RAM demonstration test plan and reports, and other deliverables described in the Alstom RAM instruction
• Apply the RAM Process and Methods Work Method Statements and Guidelines
• Make Design recommendations based on RAM studies applying the ‘Design for Reliability’ and ‘ Design for Maintainability’ guidelines, and verify adequacy of architecture choices to system or product RAM targets
• Specify and oversee reliability tests when required
• During the operation and maintenance phase, the RAM Engineer validates field failure data collected by the warranty team and supplies them to the RAM Return of Experience Leader of the Centre of Excellence issues the standardized 2-page RAM report.; and supplies necessary inputs to RAM Key Performance Indicators KPI
• In close coordination with the Quality function, taking part in the reliability growth management process
All About You

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Civil Engineering; computer sciences, physics or similar.
• Preferably, coursework or certificate in RAM Engineering
• Preferably RAM Engineering experience like RBD, FTA, FMEA, RAM predictions, Markov, IEC62380;
• Preferably professional experience in Railway Signalling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software;
• Demonstrate Quality, Cost, Delay commitments on delivering engineering works
• Excellent written and oral communication skillsGood analytical & synthetical skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Self-motivated;
• Ability to adapt and passion to learn new techniques in a changing environment.
• Strong technical leadership behavioural and able to interact with multidisciplinary teams
• Well-organized, structured way of working, sociable and with a problem-solving mindset; team player interest in onboarding, mentoring, and improving others.
• Lead and readapt an international team on multinational sites in a changing environment
• English and German at a fluent level are mandatory for this role
