The Institute for Medical Biometry and Statistics (IMBS) at Marburg University is looking for a motivated researcher to join our team from 01.03.2026 (E13 100%; 3 years PhD / 2 years Postdoc). Work with us at the intersection of (bio-) statistics, statistical learning, and medical research:

Your role

• Conduct research and teaching in applied and methodological statistics
• Develop and implement computational and statistical-learning methods for medical data
• Provide statistical consulting for clinical and biomedical projects

Your profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields
• For Postdocs: completed or near-completed PhD
• Experience in statistical modeling or machine learning; programming skills (R/Python)
• Strong communication skills; interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
• Proficiency in German and English, also for teaching
