Within the Hospital Care division of B. Braun Melsungen AG, we are currently seeking a (Senior) Expert (f/m/d) Data and AI for the Braun Technology Center (BTC) at the earliest possible date.
The Braun Technology Center (BTC) develops and manufactures customized special-purpose machines and tools for medical technology. This organizational unit plays a key role in ensuring product quality and safety across the entire corporation. As part of the digitalization team, you will be the driving force behind data-driven decision-making and the technological development of intelligent systems within the company. You will work at the interface between business, IT, and development, contributing significantly to the digital transformation.
Tasks and Responsibilities:- You analyze machine and tool data (e.g., image, motion, or environmental data) to increase equipment availability.
- You build data models for fault detection, maintenance forecasting, and quality assurance in automated processes.
- Your responsibilities also include developing and applying AI algorithms to control and optimize highly automated equipment and robotic systems in production and logistics.
- You work in interdisciplinary teams to integrate AI into cyber-physical systems and intelligent machines.
- You develop simulation models to predict motion sequences, interactions, and system behavior.
- You contribute to research and development projects on human-machine interaction and identify potential application areas within the company.
- You optimize workflows by applying AI in the context of special-purpose machine and tool manufacturing, such as PLC programming, order control, and simulation.
- You act as a multiplier within the respective departments and global sites.
- You hold a successfully completed bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, data science, AI, or a related field.
- You have several years of professional experience in data analysis, machine learning, or AI development.
- You have solid expertise in:
- Statistics and data modeling
- Machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Grafana)
- Programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Knowledge of MLOps, model validation, and AI model deployment is a plus
- You demonstrate strong analytical thinking and a structured working style.
- You show a high level of initiative and enthusiasm for innovation.
- You have a keen interest in developing new technologies and are willing to explore new approaches.
- You exhibit a strong sense of responsibility and quality awareness, along with an intrinsic drive for innovation.
- You enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams and have the ability to communicate complex topics clearly.
- You handle conflicts constructively, communicate appropriately for your audience, and possess the necessary assertiveness.
- You are willing to travel internationally for business (approx. 10–25% of working time).
