Your mission & challenges
As a hands-on Design Engineer, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between development and production. You will be responsible for the design and continuous optimization of production-related components, tools, and fixtures for our robotic and sensor systems. Your mission is to ensure that our products and manufacturing equipment are robust, efficient, and ready for scalable series production.
Your main tasks include:
- Design and development of production equipment, assembly fixtures, and testing devices for robotic and sensor systems
- Series-oriented optimization of product designs in close coordination with development, production, and quality teams
- Implementation of design changes to improve manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and product robustness
- Creation of detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and documentation in accordance with applicable standards
- Support in the commissioning and validation of new tools and fixtures in the production environment
- Collaboration with suppliers and internal departments to ensure feasibility, cost-efficiency, and timely implementation
- Contribution to the standardization and modularization of production equipment and design solutions
- Continuous improvement of existing tools and processes based on feedback from production and quality assurance.
What we can look forward to
- Degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, product development, or a comparable field
- Experience in the design and optimization of mechanical components, tools, or fixtures – ideally in a production-related environment
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software and familiarity with PLM systems
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerancing, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Hands-on mentality and a strong focus on practical, production-ready solutions
- Structured and solution-oriented working style with a high level of quality awareness
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
- Good command of German and English, both written and spoken
