We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical R&D Manager (f/m/d) to join our innovative team. In this role, you will lead research and development initiatives, driving technical advancements in the textile industry. Purpose of the role: expose untapped cost potentials, boost availability & limit leftover, empower /Tier-1/Tier-2 sourcing strategies, e nable integration of sustainability and compliance
What you can expect:
- Raw Material Price and Consumption Optimization: Consolidate, cross-check, and benchmark materials and corresponding prices across sourcing regions. Collaborate with PD, MEX, and QPM to optimize material consumption.
- Technical trim price and Consumption Optimization: Consolidate, cross-check, and benchmark technical trims and corresponding prices.
- Price Negotiations: Execute negotiations with strategic Tier-1/Tier-2 vendors based on optimization plans, forecasted order quantities and mid- to long-term demand plans
- Innovation and Competency: Partner with Creative R&D teams to integrate innovation and competency into the vendor rating system.
- Support Tier-2 Sourcing Strategy: Work collaboratively with Business Owners, Business Leads, and Creative R&D teams.
- Streamline Vendor Base: Focus on high-performing, strategic partners to enhance vendor setup with Creative R&D teams.
- Close Collaboration with Creative R&D: Act as the analytical advisor to support fact-based decision-making.
Your profile:
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Textile Engineering or Textile Management is mandatory.
- Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in a similar field, demonstrating expertise in technical R&D management
- Textile Knowledge: Strong understanding of the textile supply chain and its value creation processes, focusing on fabrics and yarns.
- Sourcing Expertise: Proven experience in sourcing and collaboration with suppliers (Tier 1 – Tier 2).
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities and the capability to analyze complex data to make informed decisions.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with a track record of working with international partners.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of textile industry trends, sustainability, and technical processes.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Language Proficiency: Strong command of English, both spoken and written, to effectively collaborate with international teams and stakeholders.
