Your role:
Join our Export Control Europe team as a Trade Compliance Expert for France.
You will ensure the local implementation of global trade compliance standards, support import operations, and contribute to regulatory alignment across France, Iberia, and Italy, reporting to the Manager Trade Compliance South.
- Ensure local implementation of trade compliance standards
- Monitor and communicate applicable national and regional trade regulations
- Maintain local licenses and support import authorization processes
- Classify products (HS/ECCN), assess jurisdictions, and ensure accurate declarations
- Liaise with customs authorities, brokers, and regulatory bodies
- Support audits, reporting, recordkeeping, order screening, and monitoring activities
- Conduct compliance audits of internal teams and external service providers
- Review and classify products per government agency requirements (e.g. drug enforcement)
- Perform customer and transaction screenings (sanctions, licenses, end-user statements)
- Advise internal teams on import-related compliance matters
- Report incidents and ensure alignment with company’s trade compliance policies and best practices
Who You Are:
- Master’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or Biochemistry, with at least three years’ experience in a government-regulated industry or equivalent education/experience
- Strong understanding of business needs, commercial operations, and logistics processes
- In-depth knowledge of HS codes, ECCN, and customs tariff regulations
- Comfortable working in a cross-functional team and managing multiple priorities
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- High sense of responsibility, ownership, and customer focus
- Familiar with ORACLE and SAP Global Trade Services
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English
- Organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven
- Agile thinker, capable of handling complexity and driving improvement
- Proficient in MS Office and Internet tools
- Self-driven and able to work independently
