AIT/ EVT Metrology Technician (m/f/d)
We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Metrology Technician who thrives in a dynamic, high-precision environment. Within our EVT & Metrology team, you will play a key role in validating space-flight hardware, ensuring components, subsystems and complete spacecraft meet rigorous environmental and quality standards.
Your Tasks
Environmental Testing (EVT)
In the frame of EVT activities, you will:
- Setup, support and conduct complex tests in the thermal-vacuum environment
- Develop and implementing test procedures for thermal environmental testing of components, subsystems, and spacecraft, working directly with the Test Lead to perform tests on space-flight hardware
- Prepare monitor, and control thermal cycling and thermal-vacuum tests
- Perform mechanical maintenance of thermal-vacuum test chambers and related equipment
- Define test processes and setup of thermal cycling and thermal vacuum environmental test areas
- Collaborate with design engineering to define environmental test equipment specifications
- Evaluate test results and prepare clear and structured test reports for stakeholder review
- Create and update procedures, work instructions, and operational standards
Metrology
In the frame of Metrology activities, you will:
- Perform precision metrology measurements using CMM, CMM-Arm, Laser Tracker systems
- Conduct metrology operations in clean-room environments at external facilities
- Develop and implement methrology test procedures (CMM and LT)
- Evaluate test results and prepare comprehnsive reports for stakeholders
Your Qualifications
- +5 years of professional experience in AIT or laboratory enviroment, ideally in the aerospace sector
- Demonstrated experience in environmental testing (thermal cycling and/or thermal vacuum) and precision metrology
- Solid knowledge of space standards and test setups is a strong plus
- Proven track record of developing test procedures, executing them from requirements through to test reporting
- Hands-on proficiency with metrology instruments (e.g., CMM, Laser Tracker)
- Strong understanding of space-flight components and spacecraft environmental test regimes
- Flexibility to work in shift operations and occasionally on weekends
- Fluent English; German is a plus
