Scope of duties
· Key responsibilities include independently leading a junior research group investigating the role of microbiota in the progression from gastritis to gastric carcinoma. · The focus will include the characterization of gastric microbiota, the interaction of Helicobacter pylori with microbiota, and the establishment and functional analysis of human gastric organoid models. · The aim is to identify novel diagnostic biomarkers and enhance the understanding of mechanisms underlying gastric carcinogenesis.
Our requirements
· Required qualifications include an excellent medical doctoral degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., microbiology, immunology).
· Candidates must have clinical experience in the field of gastroenterology. · At least one year of postdoctoral experience is required. · A proven publication record is expected. · Applicants should submit a compelling research proposal. · Experience in molecular biology, microbiological techniques, and microbiome analyses is required. · Knowledge of organoid models and metabolomics is desired. · Applicants are expected to possess excellent English language skills. · They must demonstrate strong teamwork and communication abilities. · Candidates should be willing to contribute to teaching and junior researcher mentorship.

· Remuneration is based on the Collective Agreement for the Public Sector of the Länder (TV-L) including all allowances customary in the public sector.
