Your tasks

• Provide strong disciplinary and technical leadership to a team of 10-15 software engineers.
• Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance team environment.
• Mentor and coach team members, identifying skill gaps and supporting professional development.
• Facilitate team communication and collaboration with other international R&D teams and manage team workload, prioritization, and people allocation.
• Oversee the design, development, and testing of XLAPI, ensuring high quality and adherence to industry’s best practices.
• Deeply understand the functionality of XLAPI and its relationship to the underlying CMX mobile radio tester and ensure the Python-based XLAPI API is well-documented, user-friendly, and maintainable.
• Enable scaling of xLAPI across different use cases including an AI-based test script development product
• Guide the team in abstracting the complexity of 3GPP 4G/5G signaling messages for effective mobile protocol stack testing.

Your qualifications

• Bachelor’s / master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field is required.
• Proven experience in software development, with a strong focus on application development for distributed systems and leading and mentoring a team of software engineers.
• Demonstrable experience with the entire software development lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance) and agile software development methodologies.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming.
• Solid understanding of the telecommunications industry and mobile device testing with 3GPP 4G/5G standards and mobile communication protocols.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and international team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. German language skills are a plus.
