Our team is responsible for scaling the calibrations and validation of Apple’s products to millions of devices and guaranteeing a high level of accuracy for millions of devices. Our solutions are used for design validation before and during New Product Introduction (NPI) and transferred to mass production.



Description

As a Computer Vision Engineering Manager, you will lead a talented team in developing and implementing algorithms for new integrated measurement systems that guarantee the high quality of Apple products. This role includes the testing and calibration of camera and depth systems to ensure optimal performance. You will have the opportunity to use state-of-the-art computer vision approaches to enable highly effective and versatile calibration and test methods as well as use that insight to drive for the right test setup. Responsibilities include: * Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of Computer Vision Algorithm Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. * Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and cross-functional partners, effectively communicating technical concepts and progress updates. *Develop and execute comprehensive algorithm validation strategies and experiments, clearly communicating results and recommendations to a diverse audience. *Contribute to hardware calibration improvements by conducting trade-off analyses and sensitivity studies between hardware and algorithms. *Lead the design, development, and optimization of robust processing libraries that will be deployed across multiple projects. *Drive innovation and explore new computer vision techniques to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of our calibration and validation systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experienced as a technical lead in Computer Vision algorithm development, ideally within a cross-functional environment.
  • Proven ability to mentor and guide a team of engineers.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in programming with C++ and Python/Matlab.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and effectively collaborate within a cross-functional team.
  • M.Sc. or equivalent in Computer Science, Physics, or a related field with a focus on Computer Vision and Multi-view Geometry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to shifting priorities, and dive deep into technical details as needed.
  • Deep understanding of algorithm design, development, and validation methodologies.
  • Experience with camera calibration is a significant plus.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
