Effective and efficient use of information technology (IT) is key to achieving Munich Re’s and Group Technology’s strategic objectives. To support this, a dedicated organizational and operational structure has been implemented to manage and monitor global IT operations and development teams, including all related processes, applications, infrastructure, and services. This is what we call "IT Governance.”
In line with the overall IT Strategy, IT Governance defines the framework for key governance elements, including processes, responsibilities, controls, reporting, and KPIs.
The Subtower 1.1.1 Governance / Legal Framework ensures compliance with the global IT governance framework and alignment with the IT Strategy. The team designs and maintains selected governance elements for the global IT organization and conducts regular reviews to ensure compliance with relevant standards and to coordinate the resolution of any deficiencies. Additionally, the unit is responsible for the legal IT framework (contractual basis) between group companies for the provision of IT services.
