What your day will look like
As a Head of Group Reporting you are responsible for leading the delivery of the Groups’ primary external financial and non-financial disclosure, including the annual report and accounts. You ensure that Thinkproject maintains its strong reputation for providing timely, accurate, and complete reports to stakeholders by fostering a culture of continuous improvement in both reporting processes and disclosures.
Key responsibilities
Financial and Operational Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of consolidated financial statements, local accounts and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and other relevant regulations.
- Contribute to process optimisation: identify opportunities to improve consolidation and
reporting processes, implement best practices and leverage innovative technologies to increase efficiency and scalability. - Continuously assess the Group’s overall approach to external reporting (both financial and non financial) to align with market best practice and to ensure the group sustains its reputation for
submitting complete and accurate reports. - Support to drive automation and standardisation of management reporting, lender reporting and CSRD reporting
- Support the development of new reporting metrics, associated technical policies, calculations and respective processes for the collection of data for use of internal management information and external reporting.
- Independent implementation of special topics, e.g. consolidation and integration of the
accounting systems of newly acquired companies, mergers of subsidiaries, as well as support projects within the Group (preparation of possible exit, optimisation of ERP rollout, automation of the process landscape, etc.)
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Support and oversight Group Financial Control Framework, ensuring that the group maintains a robust control environment over financial reporting and is compliant with the requirements of the Corporate Governance Codes.
- Support in the implementation and continues updating of accounting regulations and
preparation of group guidelines. - Ensure reporting processes adhere to internal controls and risk management policies.
- Monitor changes in reporting regulations and standards, proactively adjusting systems and practices to maintain compliance
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaboration on special projects (e.g. integration of newly acquired companies into the
consolidation system). - Collaborate with all Functions across Thinkproject to support global consistent processes and controls to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, building upon strong existing working relationships.
- Act as a liaison between the group and external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other third parties.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing reporting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Professional Management of external Service Providers
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations for the reporting function.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities in reporting.
What you need to fulfill the role
- Qualified accountant (e.g., CPA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in group consolidation or within an accounting firm, ideally with readiness to step into an industry role
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and German GAAP (HGB)
- Ideally, a good understanding of German tax law and international tax law
- Fluent in German with excellent English skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and develop a high-performing team
