HWTE is responsible for designing and developing methodologies and measurement solutions for calibration and validation of key technologies across Apple’s products. For new technologies, we focus on metrology and design characterization. The team takes on a multitude of technologies in Imaging & Sensing across products.
Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced manager for our Technology Engineering Program Management (EPM) team in Munich with experience in camera and depth sensing hardware. You’ll lead a talented team focused on developing and implementing state-of-the-art metrology solutions for advanced camera and depth sensing technologies.
You’ll establish and nurture critical functional partnerships with stakeholders. You’ll own and drive high-impact meetings, work closely with senior leaders to review new technology development, and strategically tie these to investments in new metrology solutions. You’ll join the team championing calibration and test strategy through early technology development. If you have broad experience across key hardware technologies, a strong product/customer focus, experience guiding sophisticated programs, and the ability to distill tradeoffs to key factors and drive critical metrology calibration & test decisions, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse, cross-functional team of Engineering Program Managers (EPMs), fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Drive team performance and individual growth.
Stakeholder Partnership: Establish, maintain, and nurture robust functional partnerships with key stakeholders globally. Champion best practices in program and risk management, and cross-functional communication for high-quality outcomes. Serve as the central point of communication for Munich HWTE team deliverables.
Strategic Alignment & Influence: Ensure development of appropriate, scalable, and forward-looking metrology solutions that influence design decisions.
Program & Meeting Ownership: Host technical reviews, and program updates with senior leaders and cross-functional partners, ensuring clear communication, documented actions, and decisive outcomes.
Technical Program Execution & Communication: Oversee and drive the successful execution of metrology development from ideas to proof of concept and work with vendor and partner teams worldwide for deployment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven track record of managing complex NPI (New Product Introduction) programs.
- Demonstrated success managing successful teams, including supporting and growing team members in significant high-visibility roles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively engage, influence, and present to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with globally distributed teams and stakeholders across different time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Optical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Physics) or a related technical field.
- Deep expertise in one or more of the following: optical metrology, semiconductor metrology, image sensor technology, computer vision algorithms, AI/ML, 3D sensing.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in complex technical and organizational landscapes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Self-starting, self-motivated, self-directed, and self-sufficient.
- Good understanding of metrology development principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Proven experience in effectively managing complexity to solve problems, drive results, and hold teams accountable.
