TYTAN is a young deep-tech defense startup that develops a cost-effective counter-drone solution to protect people and critical infrastructure. We are an international team of ambitious engineers who combine expertise in autonomous systems and UAV design.

We are looking for a new team member who is eager to make a real difference! As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will drive the evolution of groundbreaking ideas into scalable, high-impact solutions for real-world challenges.

Your roadmap to make an impact

• Design and model new parts or refine existing designs based on requirements and performance objectives.
• Contribute innovative ideas to the development of new UAV systems.
• Develop and validate designs using additive manufacturing techniques.
• Manage supplier relationships and coordinate component procurement.
• Lead cross-functional design reviews, incorporating time-sensitive feedback from manufacturing and flight testing teams, and our mission partners.
• Take full ownership of projects, managing them from initial concept through production.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing design processes, implementing best practices, and measuring impact.

Who you are

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 1+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strong proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Solid understanding of mechanical principles for designing structural components.
• Hands-on experience with UAVs, including both fixed-wing and rotary-wing platforms.
• Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes and materials; injection molding and metal design knowledge is a plus.
• Balances creative, out-of-the-box thinking with practical, long-term solutions to address both immediate and future needs.
• Proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail.
• Highly self-organized, with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and hands-on mentality with solid multitasking and self-organization abilities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in English. German knowledge is beneficial.
