Job Description:
As a Railway Systems & Simulation Engineer , you’ll be at the intersection of railway domain expertise, physics-based modeling, and data-driven innovation. You’ll develop and maintain advanced simulation models and digital twins of railway infrastructure that form the foundation for predictive insights and operational excellence. Your work will directly influence how railways are monitored, maintained, and optimized.
This role is ideal for an engineer with a passion for the railway domain, who combines a strong foundation in physical modeling with curiosity for real-world validation and collaboration across disciplines.
Your Impact:
- Serve as a domain expert in railway engineering, providing insights into track and infrastructure dynamics, vehicle–track interaction, and system behavior.
- Design, build, and evolve physical simulations and digital twins that represent key railway components and infrastructure systems.
- Drive the maintenance and continuous improvement of simulation models , ensuring robustness, scalability, and alignment with real-world data.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to integrate physical simulation insights into production-grade analytical models that deliver tangible value to customers.
- Collaborate with customers, regulatory bodies, and other external stakeholders to ensure simulation fidelity, compliance, and validation.
- Work closely with device and sensor engineers to define measurement strategies and optimize sensor placement, ensuring collected data provides meaningful inputs.
- Plan and execute field activities , including reference measurements, to collect ground truth data for model validation and improvement.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have:
- Degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Railway Engineering , or a related technical field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- Strong experience in railway systems modeling, dynamics, or infrastructure analysis, along with an overview of the current state of the art research in the field of railway engineering.
- Proficiency in physical simulation tools (e.g., multibody dynamics, finite element analysis, or custom numerical modeling frameworks).
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems , sensor integration, signal processing, and experimental validation methods.
- Ability to bridge physics-based modeling with data-driven analytics to deliver scalable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external partners, including customers and regulatory authorities.
