What you will enjoy doing* - In this role, you
will be responsible for leading the identification, development and
implementation of cryogenic air separation improvements and replication of
best practices to optimize efficiency, debottleneck capacity and better
match the market demands
- You will be
responsible for supporting plants in selected RBUs in one or more
operating segments, and must interface frequently with local, remote
operating center, regional and segment engineers as well as those from the
engineering division along with other experts in the COE
- You will function
independently in a complex environment working with minimal supervision on
first-of-a-kind, complex projects
- Identify, develop
and implement concepts targeted at improving the performance of air
separation units that you support through a series of onsite and remote
plant performance reviews
- You will support local,
regional and segment teams to evaluate proposed improvement concepts, as well support the
development and authorization of capex proposals targeting operational
improvements
- Act as a conduit
to share ideas from other regions and drive the replication of those that
are relevant
- Support the
development and training of local and regional resources to create an
environment that is conducive to identifying, developing and implementing
new cost reduction projects
- Collaborate with
the engineering organization on the incorporation of cost-effective
efficiency/flexibility concepts for new and existing plants
- Further, you will support regional
teams on the development of specifications for new plants and provide expert
process trouble shooting assistance for ASU plants as needed
- You will contribute to the
development of new harmonized standards and the periodic review of
existing standards, as well as to contribute to or

Chemical Engineering plus 15 years or more of experience in the
design and/or operation of air separation plants along with solid
fundamental understanding of process simulation, thermodynamics, unit operations
(i.e., distillation), fluid flow, heat transfer, and advanced process
control philosophy
- 7 years or more of experience with the design and/or
construction of air separation plants
- Understanding of process engineering documents
including process & instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams,
HAZOP studies and other similar material

multi-functional teams (operations, engineering, R&D, procurement,
safety, etc.)
- Preferred experience includes a deep understanding of diverse ASU plant and equipment
designs Experience with plant design tools (valve sizing; plate-fin heat
exchanger design & rating; compressor performance; etc.), as well as
experience with ASU performance testing and reconciling plant and unit
operation performance to compare with design expectations
- Comprehensive understanding of safety, operational,
control, and troubleshooting aspects of ASUs developed through several
years of hands-on experience as well as field experience with ASU plant
commissioning and startup activities is preferred
- You have excellent analytical skills, capable of translating
large sets of plant operating data into meaningful ideas and projects (preferred), as well the ability to provide technical leadership and direction
