JOB DESCRIPTION
Futurail seeks a motivated Software Engineer to join our autonomy team. You will contribute to the development of real-time software systems that enable safe and efficient operation of autonomous trains. You will work alongside a collaborative team and gain exposure to a wide range of software development, machine learning, and robotics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and maintain software components for autonomous train control, including localization, mapping, obstacle detection, and collision avoidance.
- Support the development of data processing pipelines for sensor inputs from LiDAR, camera, and radar, including preprocessing, feature extraction, and storage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype, test, and develop innovative software solutions.
- Proactively identify and resolve challenges to drive the growth and enhance the success of both the team and the company
REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency in Python and a solid understanding of software development principles and best practices; C++ knowledge is a plus.
- Familiarity with perception sensors (LiDAR, camera, or radar) or sensor fusion techniques
- Exposure to robotics, autonomy software stacks, or rail/transportation environments
- Knowledge of modern deep learning and machine learning architectures is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills, pragmatism, and a collaborative mindset.
