You will support soil sampling and field measurements for ongoing research. Tasks include: • Assisting with the collection of soil samples in tree pits and green areas in Munich and Freising • Supporting in in situ measurements (e.g., soil infiltration, compaction, moisture)
About the Project
This research explores how different soil surface management types (such as vegetation, grass, gravel, and exposed soil) affect soil functions in urban green spaces. By measuring key soil properties like water infiltration, retention, compaction, moisture, and carbon content, the project aims to understand how urban soils contribute to ecosystem services. Fieldwork is conducted across Munich, focusing on tree pits and adjacent green areas.
Measurements are carried out both on-site and in the lab to support improved soil and tree management strategies in cities. Your Role You will support soil sampling and field measurements for ongoing research.
