We are an international team and offer insights into scientific practice as well as the opportunity to work on the research project InclusiveSpaces. The project is an international Horizon Europe Pro-ject (Nr. 101147881) and focuses on the inclusive design, monitoring, and evaluation of urban spaces, whereby our task is the development and demonstration of a Comfort-based Accessibil-ity Tool.

Tasks:
- Continuous server maintenance of the Comfort-based Accessibility Tool (CAT), a web-based application that calculates and graphically displays the spatial accessibility of urban areas.
- Setting up CAT for additional cities, e.g. other demo-sites of the project or other research pro-jects.
- Supporting the demonstration of CAT, including the creation of video-based tutorials.
- Ensuring ongoing implementation of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) compliance.
- Providing general support for the research project, including report writing, documentation, and graphic visualization.

Requirements:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program at a Munich university or college, preferably in one of the following fields: Geodesy and Geoinformation, Land Management and Geospatial Science, Cartography, Computer Science, Information Engineering, Informatics in the Built Environment, or a related discipline.
- Comfortable building and maintaining lightweight back-end endpoints with JavaS-cript/TypeScript + Node.js/Next.js; able to write solid SQL, ideally with some exposure to PostgreSQL/PostGIS
- Understanding of basic data management and API outputs (JSON/GeoJSON) and can keep a small service stable in a serverless deployment (e.g., Vercel).
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
- Ability to work independently
- Good written and spoken skills (in English (min. B2))
- Openness to join a meeting with the current tool developer in March 2026 to enable a smooth handover of tasks

About us:
The Chair of Urban Structure and Transport Planning focuses on sustainable and integrated mobili-ty planning in urban, rural, and regional areas in teaching, research, and practice. We encourage participation in internal meetings, project ap-pointments and workshops. The working hours are 8 h / week and can be flexibly determined in consultation with the team. The position starts 01 April 2026 and is limited to October 2026 due to internal project management. Working in the office (TUM Campus Munich Downtown; flex desk) or remotely is possible. Payment is in accordance with the standards for student/scientific assistants at TUM.

Application:
TUM is striving to increase the proportion of women, and qualified women are therefore strongly encouraged to apply. Severely disabled persons will be given preference if their suitability and quali-fications are otherwise essentially the same.

Please send an application with the necessary documents (letter of motivation, CV, current tran-script of records; optional: sample projects, certificates, etc.) by February 18, 2026, in one PDF with the subject "Application for CAT” to Ms. Lea Zuckriegl (lea.zuckriegl@tum.de).
