The Chair of Biological Imaging (CBI) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging (IBMI) at Helmholtz Munich are an integrated, multi-disciplinary research unit, which provide bioengineering solutions to urgent societal needs. CBI scientists develop next-generation imaging and sensing methods to measure previously inaccessible properties of living systems, hence, catalyzing breakthroughs in biology, medicine, and the environment. Comprising 12 inter-disciplinary laboratories and scientists from more than 25 countries, CBI offers state-of-the-art infrastructure for innovative research and an ideal environment to accelerate your career.
The Mission:
The EU-funded project OPTOMICS seeks to revolutionize type 2 diabetes healthcare by combining molecular phenotyping, advanced optoacoustic imaging, and artificial intelligence-driven computational models. Its goal is to develop and validate a digital twin that enables earlier prediction, improved patient stratification, and better prevention of diabetes and its complications.
The study nurse will:
• Recruit probands for the OPTOMICS study
• Review and collect participant consent forms
• Perform optoacoustic scanning, blood and urine collection
• Enter questionnaires, laboratory data, and imaging data into the study database
Your profile:
The successful applicant must have the following:
• Vocational training as a medical nurse
• Advanced training and work experience in diabetology and as a study nurse
• Certified training for the transport of hazardous materials
• Strong motivation, scientific curiosity, and commitment to scientific excellence.
• Team player skills and enthusiasm to work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment.
• Fluent in German and English

The successful applicant will have a part-time contract (5 h/w) until the end of the OPTOMICS project end of December 2026. Salary will commensurate with work experience and seniority (TV-L E8).
