Job Description
Become part of our mission at Finanztip
Are you interested in data that really makes a difference? Then join us as a working student in data science to analyze user behavior, develop personalized recommendations, and build smart data models for our app.
This is us
Finanztip is no ordinary company. As part of the non-profit Finanztip Foundation, we have a clear mission: to make finances simple.
We are not only Germany's leading financial advisor, but also a compelling employer with a culture where purpose and social responsibility meet ambition and top performance. Over 100 dedicated, talented individuals are already part of our strong team—and we're continuing to grow!
Start with real practical experience, develop new skills, and exceed your expectations every day. In our modern offices in Berlin and Munich, you'll find everything you need for productive work: an open team, short decision-making processes, and excellent technical equipment. And because your work-study-life balance is important to us, we work together to create flexible working hours.
This is your role
- As part of our Shared Services team, you'll be at the center of the action and delve deeply into our user and business data. To achieve this, you'll need a degree in data science, statistics, computer science, business informatics, or similar, as well as approximately 20 hours of time per week.
- You provide insights that really make a difference, and your analyses ensure that we can plan based on data – analytical thinking and a feel for numbers, patterns, and connections are essential for this.
- With tools like Python, SQL, Airflow, or AI-supported applications, you can bring order to the data chaos – ideally, you have experience with at least one of these technologies and can carry out analyses independently.
- Together with the team, you will develop data-driven features such as smart chatbots, personalized recommendations, or reports with real added value – your structured way of working and your ability to actively communicate within the team will help you achieve this.
- You will independently take on smaller analysis projects, contribute your ideas, and develop yourself further in a practical context – your initiative and strong communication skills (in German and English) are particularly in demand.
- You are studying data science, computer science or similar and can support us for about 20 hours per week.
- You already have practical experience with Python, SQL, Airflow, or similar.
- You have very good German skills (at least C1) and a good command of English.
- You are characterized by strong initiative and a structured way of working.
- Nice to have: Initial experience with BI tools or an introduction to cluster analyses – not a must, but definitely a plus.
- For this role, you can be in our Munich office at least 2 days per week.
This is your team
You'll become part of our 10-person shared services team within our IT team, led by Daniele Cinquantini (CTO), and work closely with our product managers from Audience Development. You'll regularly engage with our data scientists and have the opportunity to further expand your data expertise.
Do you feel addressed?
Then let us know who you are and why you want to help shape our mission at Finanztip. What matters to us is the ideas you bring to the table and what drives you—no matter where you come from or what your story is.
Selina Eicher from our People & Culture team looks forward to receiving your application.
