To reinforce our "Instrumentation” Business Unit, based in Neuchâtel, we are currently looking for a (Senior) System Engineer.
Your mission
As a key member of our Sensing & Control team, you will propose, design and realize elegant solutions for mechatronic and photonic systems. You will study systems in depth with multi-physics analysis and simulations, and tests, to create innovative systems in collaboration with our customers and partners. In addition, you will actively support projects acquisition through networking and proposal writing.
Your responsibilities
- Based on analytical and finite-element modelling (COMSOL), design, realize and test mechatronics systems
- Apply system design knowledge to various physics (electromagnetism, fluidics, thermal, photonics)
- Report project results in a clear and concise manner, both internally and externally, with the adequate level of information depending on stakeholders
- Actively participate in the setup of new industrial and government-funded (Swiss and European) projects, through networking and proposal writing (project planning, effort/cost estimation, risk assessment and resource allocation).
- Promote our technology portfolio through publications, conferences and visit to customers.
Know-how
- MS or PhD engineering degree in microengineering or equivalent, with several years of experience in the systems design for industry
- Strong competences and large experience of systems projects
- Exhibit a good experience and understanding of systems design and trade-offs, with a multi-disciplinary knowledge (mechatronics, electronics, photonics, mechanics)
- Expertise in finite element modelling, ideally with a strong experience in various COMSOL modules
- Professional proficiency in English is required. French and German are a plus.
