The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Global Application Engineer for the Automotive Battery Bonding segment within the Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

• Delivering technical support for EV battery bonding applications through site visits, training, and digital tools; lead testing and field trials to validate performance and ensure real-world effectiveness.
• Serving as the key link between global and local teams in the EV battery segment; contribute to project teams by sharing best practices, technical insights, and strategic market developments.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams—marketing, sales, product development, external partners, and customers—to drive successful implementation of applications and products in EV battery bonding.
• Understanding customer needs and market gaps in the EV battery space; maintain key industry relationships and apply insights from trends, regulations, and competitive intelligence to guide innovation.
• Developing compelling, data-driven value propositions and communicate technical content effectively to both internal and external stakeholders within the automotive battery market.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline
• Significant experience in the automotive industry, with expertise in component design, development, validation and manufacturing processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, collaborate and work effectively across diverse cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in dynamic and changing environments
• Proven customer-facing skills with experience in presenting and articulating technical solutions to various stakeholders
• Willingness to travel for customer visits, site engagements and technical demonstrations
• Fluent in both German and English

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience with adhesive bonding techniques and their application in manufacturing
• Background in the EV battery pack segment, including component integration and assembly
• Proficiency in additional European languages such as Italian, Spanish, or French
• Familiarity with simulation/modeling tools, automation technologies, and on-demand digital solutions

• May include up to %30 domestic/international travel
• Office based
