Job Description
Digital Transformation Management is responsible for the management and further development of digitalization topics within SMT (ZEISS's semiconductor division). It drives digital transformation to enable innovation and efficiency improvements and reports directly to the SMT DTO.
Your role
Your tasks as a GenAI Architect:
- Strategic integration of GenAI technologies:
Development and establishment of central, technologically sophisticated systems and components with a high degree of innovation within the organization. - Strategic integration of GenAI technologies:
Design and further development of a scalable, modular architecture for new and existing GenAI applications, including selection of suitable components, definition of interfaces, and ensuring integration, governance, and maintainability in the overall system. - Leveraging synergies:
Combining existing GenAI solutions to promote company-wide exchange, leverage shared potential, and learn from each other. - Enablement & Consulting:
Support and consulting for employees in the development of new GenAI solutions – from idea generation to implementation. - Community Building:
Establishment, maintenance, and moderation of an internal GenAI community for knowledge transfer and to promote open innovation dialogue. - Technical Development & Integration:
Development and integration of new GenAI solutions – both in the cloud and on-premise – always taking into account - company-specific IP requirements

Your profile
Education:
- University degree in a relevant natural science (e.g. computer science, mathematics, physics) or engineering (e.g. mechanical engineering, electrical engineering) or comparable field
Professional experience:
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the development and implementation of AI architectures, with a clear focus on Generative AI
- Proven expertise in the design and implementation of complex GenAI solutions, ideally both in the cloud and on-premise
- In-depth knowledge of IP-specific requirements, data protection and security policies related to AI technologies
- Broad expertise in relevant disciplines such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing (NLP), image generation and knowledge graphs
- Experience with modeling and simulation methods as well as with the optimization of AI models
- Project management experience in managing multidisciplinary teams
Other knowledge Technological skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Python and relevant AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain)
- Experience in building and operating GenAI platforms and ecosystems
- Comprehensive know-how in cloud architectures and hybrid infrastructure models
Personal skills:
- Very good communication skills in German and English (business fluent)
- High social skills and strong lateral leadership skills
- Ability to prepare complex technical concepts in a target group-appropriate manner for decision-makers and stakeholders
- Serve as a recognized role model through leadership skills, a sense of responsibility and clear delegation
