IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

Professional processing of work packages in Application Engineering on sub-system and component level as part of the APQP- & V-Model-Process in compliance with internal and customer specifications as well as general automotive specification. The job holder is responsible for the qualitative documentation of his work results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Active support of the system engineer, systems lead engineer with planning and development / project targets
• Development and evaluation of subsystems by consideration all interfaces of the assemblies
• Design of components according state of the art rules and all requirements
• Define concepts for customer requests and preparation of documentation and presentations
• execution of risk analyses and DFMEA, assessment of risks within the system requirements
• Define test planning in cooperation with test labs
• Assessment and management of change requests.
• planning and consistent implementation of development goals according to cost, time, quality, profitability and regional financial targets and KPI´s.
• Focus on system requirements to improve product functionality
• Ensure the system development according requirements, function and legal aspects
• assessment and evaluation of customer requirements, stakeholder requirements, system requirements.
• execute continuous improvement activities for the global product development process (APQP, ASpice)
• Support cost reduction and program efficiency improvement activities (VAVE)
• Create transparency on development process by highlighting project status, risks, financial and quality metrics.
• Support the ability to champion the utilization of Gentherm's globally standardize processes, implement standard tools & use/implement modern methods (agile).
• Participate on regular status updates & reviews incl. goal achievement and risk management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor Degree in engineering science
• 3 to 5 year business experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Business experience as design engineering, CAD or project engineering
• Additional knowledge in electronics hardware and software is in advantage.

COMPETENCIES:

• Knowledge of automotive development processes, APQP, ASpice
• Knowledge of general requirements management, V-Model
• Knowledge of general methods and processes of Design Engineering, CAD, specific customer development processes
• Experience with engineering projects and system engineering of OEM customer
• Experience in automotive business
• High communication skills
• Strong customer focus
