Patient Pathway Manager (m/f/d) - Oncology
(Full-time, 38.5 hours/week)
In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and optimise the care journey for multiple myeloma patients across Austria, working at the intersection of oncology and ophthalmology where seamless coordination is critical to treatment success. You will collaborate closely with Key Account Managers, Market Access, Product Management and cross‑functional teams to identify practical improvements in pathway design, translate those insights into account planning, and drive implementation across clinical and outpatient settings.
As the Patient Pathway Manager, you will also engage and educate Eye Care Professionals and ophthalmology networks, design tailored digital and face‑to‑face educational initiatives, and lead compliant stakeholder engagement and events that support timely ophthalmology involvement in hematology treatment pathways. Your work will focus on delivering pragmatic, innovative solutions that reduce friction for patients and providers, strengthen multidisciplinary partnerships, and ultimately improve patient experience and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Pathway & Stakeholder Engagement
- Identify and develop solutions to optimise patient pathways in Austria, ensuring seamless care for Multiple Myeloma patients in close collaboration with Key Account Managers, Market Access, Product Management, and cross‑functional teams.
- Map and analyse networks of Eye Care Professionals (ECPs) around oncological accounts and integrate insights into internal account planning frameworks.
- Conduct visits to selected ECPs to educate them on Multiple Myeloma and the importance of timely ophthalmology appointments for Multiple Myeloma therapy.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with ECPs, ensuring alignment with hematology treatment pathways and supporting frictionless coordination across stakeholders.
- Design, develop, and implement tailored information events with active presentations, both digital and face‑to‑face, for ophthalmologists and ECP networks linked to hematology accounts.
- Collaborate with national and local ECP societies to co‑create high‑quality initiatives supporting improved patient care.
Compliance & Advocacy
- Ensure all advocacy and activities comply with internal policies and other relevant external regulations.
- Act as a point of contact for advocacy‑related interactions, ensuring clear communication, proper documentation, and compliant execution.
Event Leadership & Execution
- Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of events
- Oversee all event logistics such as speaker management, delegate coordination, contracting, content creation, and follow‑up evaluations.
- Maintain detailed project plans and materials for ECP to ensure high‑quality execution and continuous improvement.
Strategic Excellence & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to enhance engagement formats, introduce innovative approaches, and improve the impact of educational and advocacy initiatives.
- Drive cross‑functional alignment by fostering transparent, constructive, and trust‑based communication across teams.
- Contribute proactive insights into XF account planning to identify pathway‑related barriers and co‑develop solutions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in economics or a scientific discipline (or equivalent) and Pharmaceutical Representative Certificate (required).
- Good knowledge of the Austrian healthcare system, ideally with experience or exposure to ophthalmology (required).
- Familiarity with the ophthalmology community and ECP networks (advantageous).
- Proven ability to identify pathway barriers and co‑develop practical solutions with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong project‑orientation: planning, implementation, monitoring and coordination across departmental boundaries.
- Results‑driven with excellent problem‑solving skills, independence, proactivity, flexibility and an external stakeholder focus.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback to drive alignment.
- Willingness to travel regularly across Austria, including overnight stays
- Fluent German and very good English, both written and spoken.
Market-conform annual gross salary starting from 77.000,00 € with the possibility of higher compensation depending on your qualifications and relevant experience.
