How is the apprenticeship at ams OSRAM structured?
The training in our company consists of three parts: Practical assignments in our company, teaching units at the vocational school or the external training partner, and teaching units in our company. The time allocation is based on the training plan and the associated content. In each phase of the training, you will receive feedback from us, which will enable you to accurately assess your current level of training. Before each new training phase, you will receive an orientation and/or induction from us.

Regardless of whether you have completed school with a qualifying secondary school leaving certificate, intermediate school leaving certificate or university entrance qualification: We offer you a wide range of apprenticeships that allow you to exercise your talent for technology, crafts or commercial subjects. You can find the exact requirements in the advertisement for your desired apprenticeship.
A good knowledge of German and English is important for an apprenticeship in our company.
You can apply directly via our careers page for students. You will be offered the >Apply Now< option directly for each apprenticeship occupation.
To send your application, you will set up an applicant/user account. You will be offered the option to read and accept the privacy policy directly.
On the one hand, you store your profile data once in your user account. You can access this data again at any time if you want to adjust it again.
If you are thinking about submitting another application for a different training position, the data is then already available to you and does not have to be entered again.
Of course, you can view the status of your application at any time via your user account.
Online applications allow us to give you feedback on your application in a timely manner. Applications can be processed faster and more securely by you and us than by traditional mail.
Experience from previous years shows that you should allow about 10-15 minutes for setting up an applicant/user account, including creating a candidate profile. Once your profile is set up, it only takes 1-2 minutes to apply for a apprenticeship.
The job ads on our job board are updated on a daily basis. This means that you can be sure that all published training positions are actually not yet filled.
You have the option of first creating a general applicant profile. You can quickly assign this profile to a desired training position. This ensures that you only have to enter or save all the data once, but can then use it several times for different applications.
We recommend that you apply for your desired training positions as early as possible, as the entire application process from receipt of the application to hiring can take some time.
Our recruitment process starts approximately 12 months before the start of training.
Your application should include a short cover letter, a resume and a copy of your last school report. We are always pleased if you enclose copies of an internship certificate or confirmation of additionally acquired qualifications (e.g. language certificates).

Yes, at any time! Just click on the "Save" button. If you want to continue the application, go to the online portal and click on "Log in". Once you have logged in with your account data, click on your name. A drop-down menu will open. There you select "Profile" and can change/complete your profile.
Data protection is a central concern of ams OSRAM. Therefore, it is important to us that you know how we handle your data.
You are welcome to ask specific questions if they are important for your application. All questions regarding your application will be discussed with you again in detail during your interview. A phone call has no influence on the decision whether we invite you to the interview.
Yes, if you have accidentally uploaded the wrong documents or want to add information, simply exchange them for new documents or add them in your profile. Your current application will then be updated automatically.
Your data will be stored for six months in accordance with the data protection regulations.
This period starts anew each time you log in again and/or check your profile.
We will inform you in good time before the end of the period by e-mail that your profile will be deleted.
You are welcome to reapply for a training position at any time.
We would like to give you a concrete feedback on your application as soon as possible. Therefore, you will receive from us directly after sending your application documents, followed by occasional updates on the status of your application.
The entire application process, starting with receiving the application and ending with the final decision, takes a maximum of 6-8 weeks.
After we receive and review your application materials, we will send you online access to participate in our online assessment. After completing the online assessment, we will invite you to a personal interview. We will then make our hiring decision and submit an offer to you. Experience shows that the entire application process, from receipt of the application to dispatch of the contract documents, takes around two months.
First impressions count - this is also true for job interviews. To be as authentic and relaxed as possible, preparation is everything. Plan your journey well in advance to avoid delays. Inform yourself well about our company, but also about the training position you have applied for. Think again about what your strengths are and why exactly these strengths make you the "right" trainee. Now you need the right clothes that you feel comfortable in, and you're all set.
When selecting your individual practical phases, we take into account your training/study focus, your intermediate grades and your personal wishes for a more in-depth insight.

Yes, we offer you the opportunity to complete a practical phase abroad in the dual courses of study at our Regensburg and Munich sites.
ams OSRAM is a company that is bound by collective agreements. Our trainees are paid in accordance with the current collective wage agreement. The exact amount of your remuneration can be found in the advertisement for the apprenticeship.
ams OSRAM has agreed on a uniform framework for training throughout Germany. However, the content of the apprenticeships and study opportunities varies from location to location. You can find details on this in the job description for the individual apprenticeships and on the information page for your desired training location.

ams OSRAM offers a wide range of technical and commercial apprenticeships. In addition, your child can complete a dual study program with ams OSRAM as a practical company. Here we offer a selection of technical and commercial courses of study.
The duration of training at ams OSRAM depends on the training path and course. Currently it is between 2 and 4 ½ years.
You can support your child by talking to him or her in common about the various training paths and specializations and helping him or her explore his or her strengths and ideas.
Once your child has decided on an apprenticeship, they can offer to provide feedback on individual documents after the application materials have been prepared, if they like.
ams OSRAM advertises its apprenticeship positions approximately 12-14 months before the start of training. Your child has the entire year to apply for positions we advertise.
Our training positions are closed approximately 2 months before the start of training. After that, unfortunately, it is no longer possible to apply.
