Project Manager International Nature and Water Conservation (m/f/d)
For our international Living Lakes network, we are looking for a committed individual who will work with experienced colleagues to implement and further develop projects in the field of biodiversity and climate protection. The place of work – ideally full-time – is our office in Radolfzell. Mobile working or home office is possible by arrangement. The position is initially limited to three years for project-related reasons – further employment is sought.
The Living Lakes Network was founded to connect organizations worldwide for the protection of lakes and wetlands, to support knowledge and technology transfer and to implement joint projects. GNF’s nature conservation projects combine sustainable development and protected area management worldwide.
Your tasks:
- Project management: Management of national and international projects in the Living Lakes Network including technical support, budget planning, monitoring, reporting and audit preparation;
- Team and network work: close exchange with the international Living Lakes network;
- Travel: Planning and implementation of project visits and participation in international conferences (approx. 4-6 trips per year);
- Public relations: Participation in the preparation of project content for print, website and social media;
- Innovative collaboration: Together with your colleagues, you design the processes and work structures for the consistent and coordinated implementation of projects and programs.
Your profile:
- You have successfully completed a university degree and have at least three, ideally five years of professional experience in an internationally active organization with proven experience in the coordination of multi-stakeholder projects;
- Their expertise lies in the fields of biodiversity, nature conservation, development cooperation, water resource management, geography, forestry or agriculture – or, as a possible degree, in international project management;
- Proven experience in international multi-actor projects as well as confident handling of budget planning and project controlling;
- An affinity for figures is an advantage and, in addition to working on technical project content, you will also enjoy financial planning and monitoring projects and their billing;
- Strong communication and coordination skills, enjoy sharing responsibility;
- We expect you to be willing to travel for four to six, usually one-week, project trips per year (Asia, Africa, Latin America);
- In addition to German, you have excellent language skills in English and ideally at least one other internationally relevant language (French, Spanish);
- Very good communication skills and intercultural sensitivity as well as good presentation skills round off your profile.
