Bachelor (B.Sc.) in Nautical Science

• General (technical) university entrance qualification or aspired Abitur, with at least good to very good grades in mathematics, geography, physics, German and English
• Technical understanding and interest as well as an affinity for seafaring
• Logical and analytical thinking skills and a good command of German and English
• Ideally initial practical experience through internships or part-time jobs
• You are fit for sea service for deck operations

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Nautical Science and Nautical Officer of the Watch in cooperation with the University of Wismar in 4 years
• In the 1st year: Employment as a nautical officer’s assistant (m/f/d) on board the AIDA ships, including basic safety training in the Rostock AFZ and two weeks of basic nautical training on a sail training ship
• During the course of study: Consolidation of the basics of mathematics, computer science and physics as well as an introduction to basic nautical knowledge
• In the 2nd stage of the course: teaching special knowledge in nautical ship operation, navigation, ship management, ship safety and cargo operation as well as detailed knowledge for cruise shipping
• Internship time on board: application-oriented implementation of the acquired knowledge
• Individual development and promotion of your professional and personal skills and competencies
