As Head of Steel Design, you will report directly to the Head of Design and Engineering and lead our steel engineering department. Your responsibilities include:

• Managing and developing a team of structural and steel design engineers (disciplinary and technical leadership).
• Responsible for the design, calculation, and detailing of steel structures for offshore converter platforms in all project phases.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant rules, codes, standards, and offshore safety regulations (e.g. DNV, Eurocode, ISO).
• Interfacing with other disciplines (e.g. electrical, mechanical, layout, project management) as well as with external stakeholders and certifiers.
• Monitoring and securing progress and quality of engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
• Driving technical innovation , process improvements, and standardization within the steel design team.

We are looking for a committed leader with strong technical and interpersonal skills. You should bring:

• A university degree in structural engineering, mechanical engineering, naval architecture , or a related discipline.
• Several years of professional experience in steel structure design within the offshore, maritime, or energy infrastructure sector – ideally with HVDC platforms or offshore substations.
• Proven leadership experience , including team management and mentoring in an engineering environment.
• In-depth knowledge of structural analysis, offshore standards, and steel fabrication requirements.
• Fluent German and English skills – both written and spoken – are mandatory .
