Salary:
$70,000-$80,000/year, depending on qualifications

About us
Esperanza United mobilizes Latinas and Latin@ communities to end domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. Formerly Casa de Esperanza, Esperanza United was founded in 1982 by a small group of persevering Latinas as an emergency shelter in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Position overview
The Community Advocacy Manager is responsible for ensuring the Family advocacy program meets the needs of participants and children in the community. They oversee the efficient operation of advocates working in community settings, supervise all community advocacy staff, oversee grants, monitor finances, and lead educational workshops and presentations externally.
Functions
Program development/management
· Enhance culturally appropriate programming services for Latin@s in the community
· Develop an annual work plan. Oversee community advocates in executing the work plan
· Work with advocates and participants to use best practices in provision of advocacy
· Work with Assistant Director of Family Advocacy to identify community resources for the participants and Latin@ families we work with
· Work with the Assistant Director of Family Advocacy to develop and manage family advocacy budget to ensure financial viability of work plan and effective use of financial resources
· Provide assistance and support with crisis line and Refugio coverage when needed and on-call support as scheduled
· Analyze data and prepare statistical and outcome reports as needed
· Team with Refugio Manager and Program Assistant Director to ensure grant reports are completed and entered on time
· Represent the organization in external meetings
· Lead educational workshops and presentations for Latin@ communities, mainstream organizations, or systems as needed/assigned
Supervision
· Supervise community advocates. Ensure all job functions are executed correctly and in a timely fashion
· Oversee recruitment, interviewing, and selection of qualified applicants to fill job vacancies for community-based advocates
· Establish and clearly communicate performance expectations effectively
· Support program managers/supervisors in ongoing coaching and training of advocates
· Build an atmosphere for open communication
· Conduct timely performance and salary reviews
· Assist staff in remaining outcomes-focused and grounded in a full understanding of Esperanza United’s mission
· Provide support and coaching to advocates to create meaningful access to resources and systems
· Ensure community advocates complete their data entry
· Team with program managers/supervisors to plan team meetings and on-going training for family advocacy team
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and experience
· BA/BS in human services or related field
· Minimum of four years of supervisory and program management experience
or
· An equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills and abilities
· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills in Spanish and English
· Knowledge of the Latina community and bi-cultural experience preferred
· Knowledge of domestic violence issues preferred
· Ability to listen and resolve conflicts effectively
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
· Knowledge of and ability to use computers and other technical resources to effectively accomplish work
· Ability to travel to various locations for regular meetings or events and work weekends or evenings as needed
· Valid driver’s license and adequate automobile insurance required
