The Clinical and Mental Health Counseling Program at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month (12), ranked faculty position , beginning June 1, 2026 , for the Fall 2026 academic semester. This role is remote and applicants are eligible if they reside in any of the following states: AR, CA, CO, DE, FL, IL, IN, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, NC, NY, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, DC, or WI.

Faculty in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master's Program are responsible for the teaching and learning of students. In addition to teaching and learning, faculty are expected to participate in scholarship or professional practice activities, service to the department, the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health Sciences, the Graduate College, the University, the profession, and the community. Faculty must have documented expertise in their areas of teaching responsibility and knowledge of content delivery methods, as well as expertise necessary to ensure appropriate curriculum design, content delivery, and program evaluation.

Responsibilities Include:

• Designs, teaches, evaluates and revises course content to reflect evidence-based practice and most current knowledge in the field.

• Teaching and advising a diverse student population responsively

• Develops and demonstrates learner-centered strategies in online settings.

• Collaborates with other faculty to teach in areas of content expertise.

• Adheres to the defined grading procedures and standards in accordance with the grading policies of the University.

• Establishes positive relationships with students to promote their success.

• Models professional attitudes and behaviors.

• Provides prompt, quality feedback and advising to students.

• Participate to orient, support, celebrate, and/or reward student activities.

• Establishes office hours to accommodate student needs

• Develops and carries out a scholarship agenda in an area of interest OR engages in professional practice activities that ensure a professional orientation within the program's curriculum.

• Engages in professional development activities that strengthen expertise and enhance the ability to fulfill responsibilities as a faculty member.

• Actively participates on departmental and program committees. Some activities may include recruitment, orientation, and advising activities.

• Participates in University-wide activities such as commencement ceremonies, convocations, faculty meetings and hearings, and faculty development events.

• Participation on University-wide or Henrietta Schmoll School of Health Sciences elected or ad hoc committees and task forces.

• Develops and implements professional goals that contribute to the achievement of the goals and strategic plan of the department and University.

• Contributes to a positive working climate in the department and University.

• Collaborates and consults with other departments and programs in the University as appropriate.

• Provides service to the profession through membership in state and national professional organizations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Doctoral Degree in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited program is strongly preferred. ABD will be considered, but all degree requirements must be met before the start date.

• A minimum of two years of experience as a practicing clinical mental health counselor.

• A minimum of two years of experience in CMHC education.

• Experience with online education.

• A record of professional and community service and involvement with the CMHC community via professional membership and service.

• Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Minnesota and state of residence.

• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and multiple responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and clinical supervision, including proficiency in residential and online instructional technologies.

• Experience with innovative strategies and/or simulation learning.

• Experience with CACREP self-studies, accreditation process, and visits.

• Ability to maintain a program of personal and professional development appropriate for areas of responsibility.

• Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge and competence in the appropriate academic disciplines.

• Maintain familiarity with current texts, materials, teaching aids, and techniques relative to courses within the discipline and recommend their adoption when appropriate.

• Actively assist the School in maintaining standards required for programmatic and regional accreditation.

Salary:

• Assistant Professor: $84,862 - $99,536 depending on qualifications and experience.

• Associate Professor:$99,029 - $112,516

The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. St. Catherine reserves the right to modify or adjust compensation depending on University needs.
