Location: St. Paul office; hybrid working conditions.

Full Time: Some limited evening work. Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation needed. This is a one-year position at this point in time. We are open to either independent contractor or employee status.

Salary: $47,000-$55,000 commensurate with experience.

About East Side Learning Center (ESLC)

Program and Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain online tutoring schedules and student rosters.

  • Manage and monitor overall program performance and compliance including direct oversight of virtual programs, while maintaining working relationships with families, site coordinators and volunteers.

  • Organize instructional materials for easy access for virtual tutoring services and create tutoring kits for virtual tutors and students. Refresh kits as needed throughout the year.

  • Complete all Salesforce and Google onboarding and set up for virtual cohorts. Schedule tutoring sessions in the Experience Corps Hub.

  • Manage Coordinators in implementing structured session guides for each reading level. Guide Coordinators and volunteers in responding to each child’s individual learning style.

  • Maintain student and volunteer data for referrals, onboarding, training, attendance, tutoring dosage, literacy assessments, and student engagement.

  • Meet with families to share ESLC program information and collaborate in enrolling students.

  • Develop systems for virtual site coordinators to communicate with families regarding session information, scheduling, attendance, ESLC events, etc.

  • Supervise two part-time site coordinators, assuring that they meet all program requirements. Coach .

  • Assist with volunteer interviews and onboarding, as needed.

  • Fill in for site coordinators and tutors as needed.

  • Work with staff on expansion of the virtual tutoring program by recruiting students outside of the Liberty Plaza housing complex and tutors/observers from a wider outreach area.

Data and Assessment Management

  • Maintain student and volunteer data for referrals, onboarding, training, attendance, tutoring dosage, literacy assessments, and student engagement.

  • Assist site coordinators in the administration of student assessments (Dibbels Acadience/SEL).

  • Enter data into Salesforce at beginning, middle, and end of year. Share student progress with site coordinators and volunteers. Provide interventions to further student progress.

  • Document and gather data to chart student growth/attendance as required by Experience Corps/AARP and ESLC.

  • Along with other program managers, provide documentation of student growth/attendance to Executive Director, ESLC Staff, ESLC Board of Directors for evaluation and planning purposes.

    Training

    • Along with other program managers, provide training and instruction for tutors around data, computers, apps (Zoom, logging hours, student sessions).

    • Support and train volunteers in maintaining accurate timesheets and session progress notes using online platforms; technologies needed for virtual tutoring including Zoom, the Experience Corps Hub, Google Classroom, Epic, etc.

    • Monitor calendars, schedules, and safety procedures.

    • Along with other program managers and the volunteer manager, schedule and deliver new and returning volunteer training in the Fall of each year. and ongoing as new tutors enroll.

    • Ensure that each tutor completes all required Experience Corps video trainings.

    • Provide technical support as needed.

    • Provide Training and mentoring to new staff as needed.

    • Assist with planning events, trainings and orientations.

    Qualifications:

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, human services, or a related field is preferred.

    Experience: Experience with the administrative complexities of a federally funded grant program is essential. At least 2 years of experience in AmeriCorps, Experience Corps or similar volunteer service programs. Experience working with children in an educational or mentoring capacity is highly desirable.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with volunteers, staff, and students.

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Experience in training and mentoring.

    • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.

    • Knowledge of child development and/or literacy education strategies is a plus.

    • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and volunteer management software is preferred.
