Job Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY: QA Testing (Weld Destruct) Team Members will complete required material and assembly evaluations. Evaluations include (but not limited to) tensile test, roughness test, hardness test, destructive and non-destructive tests. All findings will be reported accordingly and accurately.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. No Grade 12/GED required, IF:
- 3 years’ work experience (anywhere)
- Minimum 3 months with a temporary agency in production, onsite at Formet
2. Grade 12/GED completed
- 2 references

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects Formet Expectations and Formet’s Visions/Values through Magna’s Employee Charter.
- Follow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna and Formet rules and regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
- Due care and upkeep of all testing equipment and associated tools.
- Responsible for cutting and preparing samples and conducting material testing (tensile test, roughness test, hardness and other as assigned).
- Maintain accurate testing records.
- Support the Quality group (QEC/WEC etc.) on new and existing programs.
- Participate in problem solving activities.
- Participate in Product, System and Process Audits as required.
- Maintain a sound understanding of customers product and engineering specifications.
- Cover for other Team Members if he/she is absent.
- Conduct visual and destructive weld inspection and prepare reports accurately.
- Support Welding Technologist and QA to promote product quality.
- Assist in the delivery of full and sub assembled components to destruct lab. Following the weld destruct schedule and document all results.
- Notify appropriate personnel of non-conforming situations.
- Perform other duties as designated.
- Conduct Non-Destructive Tests (NDT) (ultrasonic, 3MA) and maintain accurate test records.
EQUIPMENT AND/OR PRODUCT:
- Standard office equipment.
- Testing equipment/Measuring gauges
- Destructive Equipment (air chisels, plasma cutters, etc.)
- Non-Destructive Equipment (ultrasonic, 3MA)
- CNC Machine
- Quality software.
- Tensile tester (ZWICK)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Office and Manufacturing Environments
- Able to work shift work.
- Able to be flexible in hours of work in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.)
SAFETY AND HOUSEKEEPING:
- Responsible to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the O.H.S.A.
- Follow and ensure the company’s procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout the plant.
- Ensure that you work and operate equipment according to Formet’s safety rules and regulations.
- Active role in maintaining excellent housekeeping through leading by example.
- Ensure that your department is clean, tidy, organized and a safe workplace at all times.
- As with Safety, Security is everyone’s responsibility and Formet requires its employees to contribute to this activity by immediately notifying your supervisor when you identify security issues that affect the integrity of our supply chain, in accordance with PIP (Partners in Protection) and C-TPAT (Customs – Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) requirements.

Follow environmental protocol as prescribed by the Environmental Management System (EMS).

BENEFITS:
- We are looking to fill two positions: one for a straight Midnight shift, and one for a rotating shift that alternates every two weeks between Days and Afternoons
- Shift premiums of $0.85/hour (afternoons) and $1.35/hour (midnights).
