About you and this role
We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a Turnaround (TAR) Project Manager at our Stade, Germany site! In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of maintenance shutdowns (turnarounds) in our chemical manufacturing plants—both for individual plant outages and across our integrated site.
You’ll join a collaborative turnaround team, working closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Purchasing. Using Dow’s Platinum Turnaround Work Process, you’ll help bring together all critical functions to deliver successful outcomes.
As Turnaround Project Manager, you’ll also partner with regional and global teams to drive innovation, implement digital tools, and continuously improve turnaround productivity.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and close-out of turnarounds.
- Align operations, projects, maintenance, and Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) functions throughout the turnaround cycle.
- Guide the core TA team in planning, scheduling, cost control, material management, and resource allocation.
- Develop scope lists and manage work inventories.
- Build and maintain turnaround schedules and budgets to meet business and site needs.
- Integrate operations, projects, and maintenance activities for critical path management.
- Champion risk management and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Purchasing to optimize contracting strategies.
- Drive the adoption of digital tools in partnership with regional and global Digital TA teams.
Qualifications
- University degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of global turnaround processes and performance metrics.
- Fluency in German and English.
Your Skills
- Expertise in maintenance processes and technologies.
- Proven experience in project management.
- Solid understanding of safety, environmental, and workplace policies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and coordination skills, with the ability to lead and influence across teams.
- Familiarity with IT systems, economic evaluation, and financial principles.
