The Director Executive Compensation will play an integral role in designing, governing, and continuously optimizing the Group’s executive compensation framework, ensuring full alignment with business strategy, risk appetite, governance standards, and shareholder expectations.

Partnering closely with the VP Total Rewards, CHRO, and senior leadership, this role helps attract, retain, and motivate senior executives through competitive, compliant, and value-creating reward programs, including short-term incentives, long-term incentives, and equity plans.

The position oversees regulatory disclosures and remuneration transparency, ensuring adherence to SIX listing requirements and Swiss Corporate Governance Code expectations. In addition, the role drives strong governance practices across executive pay, including data integrity, risk controls, and effective cross-functional coordination with HR, Finance, Legal, and Investor Relations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing governance of the executive compensation framework, including annual incentive plans and long-term incentive programs.
  • Oversee management of external advisors to ensure competitive and strategy-aligned pay.
  • Develop and approve performance metrics, targets, vesting conditions, and payout rules that reflect risk considerations and shareholder expectations (including ESG considerations where appropriate).
  • Manage the remuneration disclosure process and regulatory reporting for the Swiss listing. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable rules.
  • Collaborate effectively with the appropriate stakeholders to translate strategy into effective pay programs.
  • Ensure data integrity, privacy, governance controls, and risk management across all compensation processes.
  • Monitor governance and disclosure changes (Swiss and international) and advise on required policy and process updates.
  • Manage relationships with remuneration consultants and internal stakeholders; prepare Board-ready materials for presentation to the Nomination and Compensation Committee (NCC).
  • Support broader compensation strategy initiatives (e.g., ESG-linked incentives, cross-border mobility).

More about you

  • 8–12+ years in executive compensation design and governance within a listed company or multinational company.
  • English fluency and proficiency in German.
  • University degree in Economics, Finance, Law, or a related field. Advanced Degree (MBA, LLM, or equivalent) and additional certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA) that support financial acumen are preferred as well as professional designation in compensation or HR (e.g., CCP/CIPD) or relevant governance certifications.
  • Deep expertise in executive compensation design (short- and long-term incentives), market benchmarking, financial modeling, and governance risk. Strong data analytics and governance mindset and familiarity with remuneration-related audit and internal control processes.
  • Experience with Swiss regulatory reporting and SIX disclosure requirements and multi-country tax and regulatory considerations.
  • Experience with compensation systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors), data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau), and familiarity with equity accounting and disclosure tooling.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, collaboration, and influencing skills. Experienced in communicating effectively with the Executive Committee and Board – you have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong ethical judgment, high integrity, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Strategic thinker with project leadership capability; proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive change.
