Senior Bioinformatic Data Analyst (TV-L 13, Full-Time)
The Hohenheim Center for Livestock Microbiome Research (HoLMiR) at the University of Hohenheim seeks an exceptional scientist to advance cutting-edge microbiome research supporting animal agriculture and health. This dynamic full-time position enables you to directly influence project outcomes, collaborate with a diverse team, and enhance your academic profile through mentoring and international networking opportunities.
Your Profile:
- PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, or a closely related field, with substantial postdoctoral experience
- Advanced skills in high-throughput sequencing analysis (metagenomics, metaproteomics, metabolomics) and computational pipelines
- Proficiency in Python, R, shell scripting, Linux systems, and large-scale data management
- Strong background in scientific communication, teaching, and supervising students
- Excellent team and intercultural collaboration skills; fluent English
Your Tasks:
- Develop and optimize advanced bioinformatics workflows for multi-omics data
- Ensure robust, secure, and high-performance computing and data management for HoLMiR research
- Guide and advise researchers on computational strategies, ensure compliance with IT and data security guidelines
- Collaborate on experimental design, integrate and interpret multi-omics data, contribute to impactful publications and presentations
- Teach bioinformatics courses/workshops and supervise BSc, MSc, and PhD students
