The Max Planck Institute for Biology Tübingen is looking to fill the position of a full-time
Research Coordinator (f/m/d)
to join our team as soon as possible.
We conduct research on fundamental biological questions, using a broad range of methods and diverse model organisms – more information is on our website . As Research Coordinator, you will be the interface between research and the administrative and organizational processes associated with our scientific activities. You will support the managing directors of the Max Planck Institute for Biology in Tübingen and the Friedrich Miescher Laboratory and all department directors.
Working closely with the administrative management, you will contribute to ensuring that the institute operates in compliance with regulations.
Your responsibilities include
- Responsibility for compliance with applicable law and other regulations binding on the institute
- Support for research projects in matters relating to approval processes, collaborations, contracts, procurement and import/export issues
- Support for the further development of scientific and technical infrastructure, including associated construction and procurement processes
- Communication management of internal communication
- Risk management: supporting the management in the areas of occupational safety, fire safety, health, radiation, animal welfare and environmental protection through central coordination with the respective persons in charge, also to ensure compliance with documentation requirements; supporting the management in the tasks and duties arising within the scope of operator responsibility
- Close cooperation with the management of operations and administration
- Support in the conceptual planning and scientific editing of the institute's research reports and contributions to MPG publications
- Preparation and follow-up of faculty meetings and their documentation, and in the implementation of decisions
- Support in networking with universities, especially in Tübingen, as well as acting as the central contact person at the institute for campus matters
Your profile
The job holder will have a university degree with a doctorate as well as several years of professional experience in science management, preferably at an academic research institute. An independent, proactive, and reliable work ethic, as well as intercultural competence, are needed. Excellent organizational skills, flexibility in taking on new tasks as well as fluency in German and English are essential.
