For our client, an international industrial group based in the Netherlands, we are looking for an OT Compliance Engineer (m/f/d) based in the Netherlands.

This position can generally be performed remotely within the Netherlands.
A company car and a home office agreement will be provided.
During the initial build-out phase, expected to be about two to three years, regular travel to production sites across the Netherlands, as well as to a site in Antwerp, will be required.
Travel is expected to average approximately 50-60% during this period and may decrease significantly thereafter.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing OT cybersecurity risks across facilities focused on the recovery and sustainable processing of industrial material streams – including high-temperature systems and chemical-physical treatment and separation plants. Your work will align with key standards and regulations, such as IEC 62443, ISO/IEC 27001, and the NIS2 directive.
Key responsibilities include maintaining and documenting the full inventory of on-site OT assets and internal OT network architectures, in accordance with current specifications, standards, and policies provided by the OT Projects & Systems team.
You’ll also conduct OT cybersecurity audits to ensure compliance with local procedures and cybersecurity protocols.

Your Responsibilities
During the Project Planning and Execution Phase

• Oversee risk management and define procedures for OT systems in compliance with applicable specifications, standards, and regulations
• Support project and modification engineering teams on initiatives impacting locally installed OT systems and network infrastructures – across all project stages, from initial requirements and risk assessments to technical coordination, implementation, validation, and final acceptance, in line with IEC 62443 standards for Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS)
• Coordinate and monitor contractors working on OT systems, including technical alignment, timeline tracking, and enforcement of quality and safety standards
• Lead OT cybersecurity risk assessments and reviews in projects and modifications, working closely with contractors and site leads
• Review contractor compliance with delivery requirements and conduct necessary testing during each project phase – including documentation, procedures, backups, licenses, etc.
• Integrate relevant documentation and procedures into the site’s OT system file management structure
• Gather and clarify all relevant OT requirements for bidding and project phases, in coordination with project engineering
• Lead risk assessments and track OT cybersecurity risks using internal risk matrices, including follow-up on defined mitigation actions
• Integrate project-specific alarm management procedures into existing site operations

During Ongoing Operations

• Manage site-specific procedures for controlling external access to OT systems, with a focus on cybersecurity and audit requirements
• Manage on-site access procedures for OT systems, including user authorization and authentication
• Ensure availability and maintenance of system documentation, backup plans, and license inventories
• Oversee OT cybersecurity and related safety procedures in coordination with local technical safety officers
• Prepare for and support external audits related to OT cybersecurity
• Coordinate and manage external support contracts for OT system management in collaboration with Procurement and the Central Automation team
• Facilitate knowledge transfer, provide contractor training, and participate in internal OT meetings

Your Profile

• Degree in electrical engineering, automation, OT/IT, or a related technical field – or equivalent vocational training
• Practical experience working with automation systems and industrial networks
• Solid understanding of industrial networking and common communication protocols
• Familiarity with OT cybersecurity standards (such as IEC 62443) is a plus – but not required; training will be provided if needed
• Some professional experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Fluent in Dutch with strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• A structured, reliable working style and the ability to communicate effectively across teams
• Willingness to travel as part of the role
